I am an independent researcher, community organizer, and consultant interested in how we create a just community where everyone thrives. I have worked for nearly 40 years in technical and executive roles in scientific research and computing, enterprise software, and, most recently, municipal government and community organizing. One constant throughout has been the use of data to develop insights, make decisions, and support accountability.
One of my foundational beliefs is that everything we do has consequences for society and its systems: we are either helping to maintain the status quo or we are nudging systems in some direction. I try to be deliberate about that in my work, always looking for ways to accomplish the task at hand that also disrupt unjust systems and lay foundations for just ones.
